Active Managers ‘Overwhelmingly’ Support Activism
A poorly governed company more likely to lose against activist, notes new SquareWell Partners study 09 July 2019
Garnet Roach, a Senior Reporter with IR Magazine, has highlighted the key takeaways from SqaureWell’s activism survey. As highlighted, despite the high levels of overall support for shareholder activism, reservations remain amongst active managers regarding activism. On the activist side, more than half of the active managers surveyed say ‘activists care only about their interests, which tend to be short-term’ (58 percent) and ‘activists fail to consider the entirety of the business’ (53 percent).
