Activist Insight points out the worldwide drop in shareholder activism, with Europe (excluding the UK) seeing a similar story. Shareholder activism continues to take hold across the continent just not as widely as it previous did.
In an interview for this report Edouard Dubois, Partner at SquareWell, gave comment on how US activists are becoming more sophisticated in their adaptations of practices to suit the European environment leading to a fall in public activism situations due to increased agreements “behind closed doors” to avoid a costly public campaign by both parties.
