Partner Louis Barbier participated in the “How to Deal with Activism” panel at the 2018 IR Cliff seminar on 17 December 2018.
It was discussed and agreed among participants that, if activism cannot be prevented, a good engagement program with shareholders is key to manage expectations and generate some goodwill. Should a company be targeted by an activist, internal communication, media relations and efforts to ensure the equity story is well understood also become key.
The session, moderated by Emilie Megel, included expert views from Edouard Dubois of BlackRock, Jerome Biscay of Brunswick Group, and Jean-Benoit Roquette of Ubisoft.
