In the article, Laurence Boisseau spoke with stewardship representatives of BNP Paribas AM, Amundi AM, and Allianz Global Investors, to uncover the reason why the 2020 season was more contested than 2019. More specifically, while general meetings were held behind closed doors, the number of contested resolutions almost doubled with executive compensation, director elections and dividends being the most contested resolutions. The vote on the “corporate purpose” received, however, strong support from shareholders.
